Agent Cora Rigsby was determined as she strode across the tarmac. There was dozens of white tents set up, nearly drowning out the back drop of the City. However tonight she had one mission in mind and with the file in her hand, the words of warning from the director and the comm in her ear made sure she didn't forget.
The comm piece was driving her insane but with each tug of the equipment a stream of voices reminded her that she needed the connection back to the Agency. With one last tug Cora stared hard at the lone tent before her, it had been a rush of activity since three hours ago and though she was due a night off she had explained to Laura that she needed to be here for this.
Lucas would understand why she wasn't there again in the morning.
Clutching the file in her hand more tightly she lifted her head and strolled through the flaps and took a deep breath at the scene that greeted her.
Through out her school years Cora like most people had come to recognize the people in this tent. They were famous and still were. But they also lived years before Cora was even conceived. With a firm nod at the guard she wanted to get a message to Director Simmons stating from what she could remember those guards couldn't do anything to stop these men and women.
Instead she chose to keep her mind focused on the job at hand.
Standing before the group she held a hand up and made sure they let her speak first.
"Thank you for your patiences. I understand how hard this must be for you all but you must listen to me for a few moments. My name is Agent Cora Rigsby"
Cora allowed for that to sink in for a few moments before she took a deep breath.
"In 2009, on the November 11th the day after you all were commended for your actions in saving the lives of thousands that it happened. Reports from around the world stated that spots or flashes of bright lights appeared. Each only lasting for three seconds; their sources could never be traced." Cora found the facts to be the easiest things to say it was the next part she feared. "No one understood what happened and many people attempted to understand what happened. All that was known was that each of you vanished" Dropping her eyes Cora didn't want to think about what everyone was thinking themselves at that moment. She hadn't even gotten to the hardest part yet. "I understand from the medical team that none of you remember what happened to you. The Agency is making it their highest priority to help you remember that lost time, but until such a day comes I have been sent here to explain a few things to you" Swallowing hard it was time to bite the bullet. "The current date is December 4th 2109. You have all been missing for over a hundred years" Cora held her breath while lifting her eyes to wait for the moment chaos erupted. They would demand answers and she had been chosen to give them if she could. Some days it sucked to be her.

Kal-El sat in the audience listening to the speech that the woman who had identified herself as Cora Rigsby gave. He wasn’t sure what to believe, but he could hear the truth in his words. It wasn’t hard to hear being that he was technically a lie detector in the fact that he had superhuman hearing he could hear her heartbeat and had to focus on her eliminating the others from the room. It was a flutter. But the rhythm was steady since the speech began so he heard the truth in her words.
“Just how did this happen?” he asked as he left his spot on the floor and floated into the air. He folded his arms over his chest and the symbol on his chest as well. He wouldn’t sit down for this any longer and he stared at the woman with cold eyes. He had just been told that everything he knew, everyone he loved was gone. How did she expect them to react to this? To come up and give her a hug.
“And can it be reversed?” he just wanted to leave and go to see if it was true. If it was he would be going to his Fortress of Solitude quickly and thinking over what had happened. How was Kandor doing? Had everything that existed in the fortress survived while he had disappeared? He didn’t know anymore. Kal-El, Clark Kent, Superman he wasn’t sure which he was in this day and time. He felt more alien than ever and now identified with the name Kal-El. The name of an alien.

Cora wasn't surprised that the questions would be thrown at her straight away. In all fairness she was waiting for this, these people had been missing for a hundred years. Everyone they ever knew or loved were gone.
With a sharp cough Cora looked at the man who had just spoken and it took all her will power not to groan. He was floating off the ground and looked mad. If that didn't worry her then the suit was enough to push her over the edge.
Superman was famous even before he had been taken.
"I'm sorry sir but at this moment I have no idea how this happened. This is something that has been bugging the world for a hundred year" Cora admitted in a soft tone before sighing. Tossing the file on to a chair she walked over to the superhero and attempted to remember all her training.
She would thank her boss for this later on.
"This wasn't anything we did... this was done to you by a force that we have never seen or heard of before nor ever since. I can only guess at what you must be feeling but we... The Agency I mean are working hard in trying to find out what happened. The best we've come up with is that it must have been a greater alien force that did this; why we have no idea but we plan to find out."
Cora hoped to ease the men and women around her, she didn't need them to start getting more angry then they needed to be. But that wasn't fair because they had every right to be angry.
The Superhero's next question throw her and she darted her eyes around the tent. Reverse this?
To reverse all this would mean messing with the time line and she had heard from different sources that is one thing you try not to mess with.
"I... I..."
Cora stuttered before letting her shoulders slump before lowering her head. Great now she felt like a failure. They deserved a chance of having their lives to be returned to normal but it would change the future. The Worlds future.
"I don't know. I'm sorry if that isn't the answer you wanted but it's the truth. I know there are a few among you who can time travel but until we sort this out we advise against that" Cora wouldn't feel bad about that, she had a son and she would fight for that as long as she could. Kal-El didn’t like the answers he was getting. They were vague and after all they weren’t good answers. For him at least. “So we just disappear? And no one can figure out why and then when we reappear what was your plan to do with us? Are families are gone. Are lives are gone. Really what are we supposed to do?” he asked. Were they supposed to just become full time superheroes and live in the mask? Kal-El didn’t know what he was fighting for anymore. He’d been fighting for Lois once and he’d even began fighting for humanity he’d disappeared.
In a way Kal-El was being childish. He wanted Ma and Pa Kent back and Lois and Jimmy too. The only thing that he could really do now was retreat to the Fortress and listen to the recordings that Jor-El had left him until he knew more about Krypton. Were there even any Kryptonians left? The Kandorians, descendants of the plant, hadn’t been able to leave the bottle they resided in without dying and his cousin Kara was with him now, but had others survived? He’d learned more about his heritage and wanted to know. What of the Daxamites? Had they survived? So many questions an there was no one here to answer them for him.
“Why shouldn’t we all just get a time traveler to take us back?” he asked and his face set into a deeper frown. He was angry and he knew that a red tint could be seen in his eyes. He didn’t want it to be there, but it was. He knew nothing of this world. The facts in his old life had been. Kryptonite came in different colors that did different things. Lois was in love with him. He was Superman. Those were the three steadfast facts and the last two were being challenged. The first one was too, because he knew nothing of the world, but the only ones relevant were the last two in his point of view. “I’ve asked you what we are supposed to do. Now I’ll ask you what you plan to do with us. What? Concentration camps?” he questioned and the idea was dark, but unfortunately very possible.

Cora has been trained to keep her cool in most situations. She wouldn't have gotten this far in her life if she hadn't but no matter what these people had gone through gave them the right to take it out on her.
They would but without the director around she didn't need to baby any of them. Simmons had ordered her to be calm and soothing but she was dealing with people used to having control over things.
Squaring her shoulders she didn't care right now if the man before her was super anything. She was doing her job.
"I'm sorry for everything you've gone through but the point is that we had no idea what happened a hundred years ago. Yes you disappeared but it had nothing to do with us... in fact most people once thought you abandoned us!" A low shot for sure but Cora had said worst to people before. "So please understand that we are doing everything we can do to try and figure it out" Cora swallowed hard and counted to five in her head before collecting her thoughts. "The people you knew are gone but we are willing to track down any living relatives... it will take time but we will find them" Cora promised hoping he would understand that they were doing everything they could to help. "For the time being all The Agency can offer in comfort is to place you in secure homes. A lot has changed over the years and though we don't have answers for you right now we are still looking. In fact we might be able to understand all this now all of you are back" Cora was starting to cool down until she heard the last questions and her body stiffened. "You all go back you change the future! This may be a new world to you but there are innocent people here who might be wiped out of existence" She refused to think of Lucas, of course she had thought about the idea of superheroes going back in time but then she saw her son's face and couldn't think about losing him. "God no we're not putting anyone in camps. We still believe in the freedom of people. We're offering you the chance to figure out what happened to you but if you would rather walk out then fine! But if you want answers then help us find them"Cora snapped feeling her blood pressure rising already.
